give back

Marine Corps Toys for Tots program has been giving back to boys and girls all over the country. Their mission is to collect new unwrapped toys during the months leading up to the holidays and distribute them in order to give hope to a struggling family. Since the organization’s start, they have distributed 512 million toys to over 237 million less fortunate families. The main goal for this non-profit organization is to help kids grow into active responsible citizens in their communities. This organization engages many communities every year and we are ready to do our part. Let’s give back this time of year and spread some holiday cheer! Contact your location for details.

valley-storage-harrisonburg-holiday-flyer-01 Valley Storage Harrisonburg is also lending a helping hand to the Adopt a Family program. The Salvation Army has been helping since 1852, from spreading  cheer to helping those in need. William Booth started spreading the gospels of Christianity around England to the homeless and destitute. William Booth and his  wife, Catherine Booth soon became instant religious successes. In the late 1800’s the Salvation Army assisted in battles and help those who were struggling.  The organization grew rapidly and became known as the Salvation Army. This organization provides programs for the hungry and services to help after a  disaster.

Along with the Red Kettle fundraiser, the Adopt a family program helps support families during the cold winter months. We adopted a family of 5, and will be  accepting donations to help from now until mid December. Clothing, dressers, and twin beds are great presents to make the holidays special for our adopted  family. This small act of kindness can mean a Christmas morning to remember for someone hurting. Support this organization with us this holiday season.
