We absolutely love the holiday season. We get a chance to visit with many of our loyal customers as they unpack their holiday decorations from their Washington County storage units, in preparation to deck the halls at home. Plus, there are so many things to see and do in our surrounding communities this time of year; we are never at a loss for entertainment!
Our Valley Storage staff is always eager to share with you what’s happening in our neck of the woods. We’ve put together a list of events that you won’t want to miss this month.
• In Hagerstown, MD, Holiday Faire Off The Square will occur on Thursday, December 5th from 4-7 PM. Events include the annual tree lighting ceremony, local artisans selling holiday crafts, musical entertainment by our local school bands and a visit from Santa Claus. That same evening, Holly Fest will happen at 7 PM at the Maryland Theatre. This is a free holiday event with entertainment by local children’s groups. What a fun-filled night!
• Want to learn about the origins of the Christmas Tree and St. Nick? Come and celebrate a German-style Christmas at the Hager House, located at 110 Key Street. This German-themed historical event will happen Fridays thru Sundays until December 15th.
• For our friends and family in Williamsport, MD – dust off your running shoes for Santa’s Run for A Claus – a 5K run/walk happening on December 7th at 9:00 AM at the Springfield Barn. Proceeds from this event will benefit the family of Eric Youngbar and WEMB. Come on out and do your best Santa shuffle for this worthy cause. Don’t forget the Polar Bear Plunge will occur on New Year’s Day at noon at River Bottom Park. This chilling charity event supports the Washington County Boys and Girls Club, along with our Williamsport Fire and EMS.
• For those of you who call West Virginia home – the Friends of Music “In the Spirit of Giving – Holiday Gala Concert” is happening on December 7th and 8th. You’ll be entertained with holiday music, poetry and stories by the talented men and women of Shepherd University’s Department of Music with narration by Dr. Rob Tudor.
